Care & Use Guide

Your Memory Mat is designed to be soft, comfortable, durable, and made for everyday living. Following these care guidelines will help keep your rug looking and feeling its best.

Inflation & Crease Removal

Your Memory Mat is vacuum packed for shipping and will gradually expand once unpacked. Simply lay the rug flat and allow it to inflate naturally. Depending on the surrounding temperature and humidity, this process may take anywhere from 1 to 14 days.

If any stubborn creases remain after the rug has fully expanded, they can be gently removed using an iron on a low-heat, maximum steam setting. Always follow your iron manufacturer's safety and operating instructions, and avoid holding the iron in one place for an extended period.

Placement & Floor Safety

  • Always place your mat on a clean, dry surface.
  • Some floor finishes (such as polished, oiled, or sealed floors) may be more slippery than others. Always test the rug's placement before use and ensure it is stable.
  • You may place furniture on the rug to help anchor it and reduce movement. Please note that heavy furniture may leave temporary or permanent indentations in the memory foam.

Polished Concrete & Acrylic Floor Finishes

We do not recommend placing your Memory Mat directly onto polished concrete or floors with acrylic-based finishes, as the backing may react with or damage certain sealants.

If using the rug on these surfaces, we recommend placing a suitable rug gripper underneath. Always follow the rug gripper manufacturer's instructions and ensure it is compatible with your specific flooring.

Concrete Floors

Concrete floors can naturally retain and release moisture. If your rug is placed on concrete, lift it every few weeks to allow both the rug and the floor underneath to air out. This helps reduce the risk of trapped moisture, dampness, or mould.

Cleaning & Care

For best results, treat spills and stains as soon as possible.

  1. Gently remove any solid matter using a spoon or similar utensil.
  2. Spot clean using warm water and a clean cloth or paper towels.
  3. Blot the affected area with a clean cloth or paper towel to absorb excess liquid.
  4. Blot gently—do not scrub, as this may damage the fabric.
  5. Repeat as necessary until the stain has been removed.
  6. Allow the rug to air dry completely before using it again.

Do not:

  • Soak, submerge, or hose down the rug.
  • Machine wash or tumble dry.
  • Use bleach, harsh chemicals, or abrasive cleaning products.

Intended Use

Memory Mats are designed for:

  • Indoor use only

  • Normal household activities such as sitting, playing, relaxing, and everyday family living

Memory Mats are not designed for:

  • Outdoor use

  • Store flat whenever possible, or gently roll the rug for storage.
  • Keep in a cool, dry location.

Memory Foam Characteristics

Memory foam naturally changes over time. The following are normal characteristics and are not considered manufacturing defects:

  • The foam will gradually soften and compress with regular use.
  • Temporary indentations may appear where people sit or where furniture is placed.
  • The firmness of the foam may vary depending on room temperature.
